The consultation of the preliminary versions of the work programs gives an overview of the themes that will be funded, the conditions for the formation of consortia and the planning of future proposals.<\/p>\n<h3><u>Renewed funding priorities<\/u><\/h3>\n<p>Through Horizon Europe, the EU plans to invest approximately <strong>\u20ac13.5 billion<\/strong> over the period 2023-2024 to continue shaping research and innovation in Europe. A significant portion of this funding will be dedicated to targeted actions on <strong>green and digital transitions<\/strong> to strengthen European societies and economies post-COVID 19.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission will continue to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promote research excellence and support scholarships, training and researcher exchanges through the <strong>Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Work to build more connected and efficient <strong>European innovation ecosystems<\/strong> and create world-class <strong>research infrastructures<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Supporting <strong>green and digital<\/strong> transitions and addressing global challenges, and supporting <strong>European industrial competitiveness<\/strong>, including through &#8220;Missions&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, the program will broaden participation and strengthen the <strong>European Research Area<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the current context of war in Europe, the new work programs will focus on actions that contribute to a <strong>safe and secure Europe<\/strong> and to reducing dependencies (notably energy). In particular, the actions included will accelerate the <strong>clean energy transition<\/strong>, in line with the <strong>REPowerEU4<\/strong> plan, improve food security, cyber security, ensure open strategic autonomy and reduce dependency on critical raw materials to accelerate the realization of the <strong>Green Deal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Green Deal aims to make Europe the first climate neutral continent by 2050. To this end, the Horizon Europe fund will allocate <strong>at least 35% of available funds to climate objectives<\/strong>.
